About
Us
"I think it’s important for
everybody in this country to know their heritage, because it’s all part of
the story of the United States."
-Hon. Samuel Alito
US Supreme Court Assoc. Justice (During his visit to the Cape Fear Italian
Festival, Sept. 27, 2009)
Cape Fear Italian Festival September 25 & 26 Cross
Creek Commons Shopping Center Leland,NC
We’ll
all be
paesani for another weekend in
September at the
Second Annual Cape Fear
Italian Festival. The outdoor celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 25
and Sunday, September 26 in the area around the Cross
Creek
Commons Shopping
Center on US 17 in
Leland, in front of the Walmart.
Last year, despite a rainout just hours into day one, an estimated 6,000
people attended the festival, including US Supreme Court Associate
Justice Samuel Alito, to enjoy food, vendors, games, music and
other entertainment. Sponsorship, admission and proceeds from raffles
at the festival allowed the Cape Fear Italian Festival to donate $3,000
for scholarships for students at Brunswick Community College. This year,
the festival will be bigger and even better. We've expanded the size
of the festival, which will give us more room for more of...
well... everything! And hopefully that means even more money for the
BCC Foundation to help students.
The
festival is hosted by the Cape Fear Italian Festival,
Inc. , a not-for-profit coporation aimed at sharing the
rich traditions of Italian-American culture and heritage with our
community. Executive committee members Frank Bullara and Mike Forte have
been lining up sponsors and vendors.
Anyone interested in participating should contact them at 910.399.2923, or send an
e-mail tovendor_info@capefearitalianfestival.com.
